Why do we have a privacy notice?

MAP Recruitment provides employment finding services to its clients and candidates. In doing so we process personal data so that it can provide these services. MAP Recruitment is a ‘data controller’. This means that we are responsible for deciding how we hold and use personal information about you. Under the Data Protection Acts of 1984 and 1998 and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which came into effect May 2018, we must comply with certain regulations to ensure your data is:

  • Used lawfully, fairly and in a transparent way
  • Collected only for valid purposes that we have explained to you
  • Relevant to the purposes we have told you about and limited only to those purposes
  • Accurate and kept up to date
  • Kept only as long as necessary for the purposes we have told you about
  • Kept securely

Why do we process this personal data?

We process your personal data as necessary to aid our role in sourcing employment for you through the recruitment process. The legal bases that we rely upon to offer these services to you are; consent, legitimate interest and legal obligations. Processing data from job applicants allows the company to manage the recruitment process, assess and confirm a candidate’s suitability for employment. The information you provide will be held securely by us whether the information is in electronic or physical format. MAP Recruitment will not use your data for any purpose other than the recruitment exercise for which you have applied.

What sort of data do we collect?

MAP Recruitment collects personal data about you to help with the recruitment process. This data consists of information such as your name, address, e-mail address, telephone number, work and education history, information about your current level of remuneration, plus proof of right to work in the UK, which we are required to collect by law.

Do we pass data to third parties?

We may pass your data to prospective or intended employers purely for recruitment purposes. All of your personal details, with the exception of your name, will be removed from the information we provide to third parties. The security of your data is extremely important to us. Access to your personal data is only provided to our staff. The information you provide will be held securely by us whether the information is in electronic or physical format. Data will be stored in a range of different places, including on your application record, in a database and on other IT systems (including email).

How do we let you know if our policy changes?

Any policy changes due to future changes in legislation, will be promoted on our website.

How do you remove your name and other personal details from the database?
